To be honest, I love working for a completely remote company. Sure, there are challenges to going remote—you’re responsible for your own productivity, you have to work to fight isolation, and you may never wear pants again—but the downsides are easy to overcome and beyond worth it. Working remotely is totally key to that ever elusive work-life balance, and having a fully remote job means flexibility, more time that’s yours, and freedom. Seriously—I can’t stress the upsides enough.

A day working remotely might mean a morning meeting over video chat with your team, calling in from all over the world. (Skillcrush, for example, has far flung employees all over the US, and some who work from Europe and Asia.) When all you need is a laptop and internet connection to be “at work,” you can work from anywhere.

    Jive be gone. Jive was purchased by the equity company Aurea a few months ago and now hires exclusively via them. Aurea (or rather, their recruiting arm, Crossover) is also a “remote only” company, looking for lower-cost near- and off-shore employees only.
