Do you ever realize it’s Sunday evening, you still haven’t finished last week’s to-do list, and you never even got a chance to relax?

It feels like everyone is running on fumes these days, but if you’re learning to code in the hours between work and dinner, or waking up early to finish your first freelance projects, you have a LOT to juggle.

To make sure you get everything done, you might already be using a task manager app, or you might be a fan of a good, old-fashioned paper planner. But there’s more to being a productive web designer or developer than just making to do lists and keeping your calendar up-to-date.

And productivity isn’t just a luxury. If you want to be a successful web designer or developer, learning to manage your time and energy effectively is an absolute MUST. Clients need to trust you to get work done on time, and you need to finish your work with energy to spare for things like paying the bills, finding your next clients, and going out to dinner with friends once in a while.

But there isn’t one productivity tip that will work for everyone. I put together a 5-day productivity bootcamp. Each day for one week, try one of these productivity tricks, evaluate yourself at the end of the day, and take some time on day 6 to figure out what works best for you.

Much like prototyping, skipping the planning stages never works out well. If you don’t work out your productivity strategies early on, you’ll pay for it later, when you’re 3 projects deep and running on 4 hours of sleep.

Here are 5 simple but effective productivity techniques that are worth trying if what you’re doing now isn’t working for you – or even if it is. You might find something that works even better.

On each page of this workbook, you’ll find a short explanation of the productivity technique and super simple 3-step exercise to try it out for a day.

So, get started today powering your productivity so you can take your learning and your earning to the next level! And don’t forget to relax on day 7. Even the most productive coders need some down time.
