Jordan Young

I landed my first client through a friend of mine and I am making $65/hr on web development and $100/hr on work with AWS and deployment setup.

I also work in a journalism software lab at a university and have primarily had a more administrative role. The Blueprint has helped in my day job by making me more confident in working on and volunteering for more technical projects. It has also helped in being able to communicate with and understand what the developers are working on.

What was your life / situation like before Skillcrush?

I felt completely stuck at the job I was in. No opportunities for growth or enrichment, I wasn't being challenged or using my talents, and I hated the day-to-day atmosphere and tasks. I was driving my friends and family crazy with complaining, but I didn't know what else to do. I knew that whatever move I made would involve more education (a BA in psychology doesn't get you very far in the real world), but I wasn't making enough money to enroll in a traditional program. I felt totally stuck.
