Learn WordPress the Right Way
From must-have plugins to custom themes and uniquely styled posts, WordPress is one of the most robust open-source platforms out there today. Open-source allows for WordPress programmers to share their code (saving them both time and money), and fosters an incredible community!
WordPress developers have the most versatile skillset in the world–they understand the importance of aesthetics but are also programmers at heart. They navigate back-end languages such as PHP, the language which powers all WordPress sites, and wrangle the front-end through custom theme development.
Prerequisites: A good knowledge of HTML & CSS is required.
If you’re not there just yet, check out our Front End Developer Course.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have previous tech experience to succeed in this Course?Yes! The WordPress Developer Course is designed on the assumption that you’re familiar with HTML and CSS. If you’re not sure if your level of skill will be enough for the course, please send us an email to email@example.com to find out more. You don’t need to be an HTML and CSS expert, but you should be familiar with HTML and HTML5 tags and know how to code and style a simple website. If you’re an absolute beginner, you can start with our Front End Developer Course. There’s absolutely NO prior knowledge needed for that Course, and it’ll prepare you very well for the WordPress Course.
Should I have a Mac or a PC to take this course? The only thing you need is a computer with access to the web. You should be able to stream YouTube or Vimeo videos and download/upload materials like photos and documents. We recommend a Mac for your future career in tech as Macs tend to be the industry standard, BUT a Windows PC will work fine too.
How long will I have access to my Course?Once you’ve completed payment for the course, you’ll have access to it for LIFE.
How much do WordPress Developers make?On average, the salary for a WordPress Developer is typically around $85,000.
Is it free to use WordPress?WordPress itself is free to download and use, however you WILL need to pay for a WordPress hosting package and domain name. Check out our article on picking a hosting package here!
What is the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org?The biggest difference between the two is where the website is actually hosted. If you are working with wordpress.org, then YOU will be responsible for hosting it. WordPress.com takes care of all of that for you. In this program you’ll learn all about WordPress.org and how to host your own website!
What theme is best for WordPress?Choosing a theme for your WordPress site doesn’t have to be as overwhelming as it may feel. Rather than diving straight into the thousands of free themes, make a list of your site’s top priorities and what you are looking for (i.e. key features and functionality, user reviews, support and updates, etc.).
Can you customize WordPress themes?Heck yes you can. In fact, WordPress has some of the most customizable themes out there!
How many websites in the world use WordPress?Almost 25% of the internet is built on WordPress–that’s over 60 million websites!
Are there any famous websites that use WordPress? You bet! Check out TechCrunch, The New Yorker, BBC America, MTV and Time. Even Beyonce’s website is built on WordPress.
You don’t have to go back to school. You don’t need to be under 30, 40, or even 60. You don’t have to leave your job or take time off. You don’t even have to know a single thing about code—if you can download a file, you’re tech-savvy enough.
If you want an in-classroom feel in an online classroom environment, Skillcrush is the way to go. I have tried other online courses and found Skillcrush to be the best method (for someone) who wants an in-class feel but flexibility of an online course.
