But what if all that’s not enough? What if you need a BIGGER reason to keep learning to code?
I get it. When I first started learning to code, I had a clear purpose: I needed cash fast so I wouldn’t get evicted. But it’s easy to get stuck in a coding rut. Once you get to a certain level, it can be hard to find that push of energy to help you keep moving on to the next thing.
Skillcrush alumna Hanna-Mari emailed me with a poignant question: How do I stay inspired to code when the financial freedom isn’t enough?
Hanna-Mari wanted what many of us do: a larger purpose, a higher calling, a reason to get out of bed in the morning (or, you know, open your text editor at 12:00 AM).
Well, brace yourselves, Skillcrushers, because for our FIRST video on SkillcrushTV, I answered that very question.
To debut my brand spanking new YouTube series, I share my 3 steps for staying inspired to code. Head on over to the SkillcrushTV channel to subscribe. And watch out for a few special cameos from the Skillcrush team. ::Cough:: Randle Browning…
I want to hear from you.
Leave a comment below or tweet me @Skillcrush, and tell me what inspires you to get out of bed in the morning. Don’t worry about an exact solution or a grand plan, just tell me: what problem do you want to solve with code?
